George Soros, 94 is an Hungarian-American billionaire business tycoon and investor. His net worth is around USD 6.7 billion. His professional life is prominent. George Soros and his professional life

George Soros was born in Budapest, Hungary on 12 August 1930 in a wealthy, Jewish family. However, his family was not a conservative one. His father was a lawyer and author. George and his family survived the antisemitic wave of Hungary by posing as Christians.

At age 17, George moved to Paris and later to England. He completed his Master of Science degree in 1954 from the London School of Economics. Later, he took up job with an investment firm in England.

When he was 26, he relocated to New York and worked with several investment firms there. At his age of 40, he started his own hedge fund business. His speculations on global financial markets made him rich. He is known for his successful investment gambles.

George is also a philanthropist and a liberal political activist.

The marriages of George

George’s first marriage was to Annaliese Witschak who was three and half years younger to him and an orphan and an ethnic immigrant from Germany. They wed in 1960. George’s parents liked her even though she was not a Jew. The couple had three children together: two sons and a daughter. However, this marriage failed and they divorced in 1983.

The same year, George married American historian, Susan Weber. She was 24 years younger to George. This marriage also did not last and the two legally separated in 2005. They share two children together: two sons.

In the year 2008, George met Tamiko Bolton who is an entrepreneur. The two started a romantic relationship. Tamiko is 53 years of age now and is 42 years younger to George. They exchanged wedding vows on 21 September 2013. They do not have any children together.

The children of George

The eldest son of George and Annaliese Witschak is Robert Daniel Soros. He was born in 1963 and has founded the Central European University in Hungary in Budapest. Robert also owns several other foundations in Eastern Europe. He is married to Melissa Robin Schiff since 1992.

The couple’s second child is daughter Andrea Soros Colombel who was born on 11th of June 1965. She has founded the Trace Foundation in 1993 and is its President. This foundation assists in sustainable development of and continuity of culture of the Tibetan people in China.

Andrea has also co-founded Acumen Fund and is on its Board of Directors. This is a fund that operates globally and tries to use an entrepreneurial way to end global poverty. Her husband is Eric Colombel.

The couple’s third child is son Jonathan Tivadar Soros who was born on 10th of September 1970. He is a manager with a hedge fund and also donates money to political parties of the USA like his father. In the year 2012, he co-founded Friends of Democracy. The aim of this foundation is to reduce the pumping of money into politics. His wife is Jennifer Ann Allan and they wed in 1997.

From his second marriage, George has sons Alexander Soros and Gregory James Soros. Alexander arrived in 1985 and is an influential person who donates lots for political and social causes. He prefers to donate to those causes that are progressive in nature and do not seem to garner a lot of support in the world.

And the second son, Gregory was born in 1988 and is an artist as well as an investor. His Instagram account refers to him as a day trader.
