German Garmendia was born as Germán Alejandro Garmendia Aranis on 25 April 1990, in Copiapo, Chile. As of 2022, his age is 32.

He was born to parents Cecilia del Carmen Aranis Mancilla (mother) and Germán Luis Garmendia Macías (father). His father died in a car crash on Christmas Eve of 1993 when he was just three years old.

Since then, his mother brought him up and he credits his mother for everything and calls her a ‘Super Mom’.

German Garmendia has one elder brother named Diego. They lived separately but reunited in Los Vilos. Garmendia was interested in music from an early age and formed a band called Zudex with his brother.

German Garmendia started his main channel, HolaSoyGerman in early September 2011.

Rumors and Controversy

A YouTuber called ‘LordDestroyer’ noticed and took a screenshot of a computer browser that had a link to a bot website belonging to one of his oldest videos, ‘Internet Y Redes Sociales’ (The Internet and Social Networks), at the timeframe 0:40.

German Garmendia then created a video showing the evidence. German had been active on Youtube just for six months and had hundreds of thousands of subscribers already.

He noticed the hate comments on his videos and deleted the video showing the browser. Moreover, he hid the statistics of all of his videos for some time.

Unfortunately, a number of Spanish Youtubers had already made videos on that matter and accused him of cheating and stealing money.

In response to all the criticism, he uploaded a video defending himself. He claimed that he was just trying the website out to see if it did work and also stated that there was a community of Spanish people all around the globe doing something amazing with his channel.

Later, LordDestructor, the Youtuber who uploaded the first video “exposing” him made another video explaining that German deleted the video to save his reputation.

However, German Garmendia fans gave hugely overwhelming negative responses to him.
