The good and the bad! Details of 3 celebrities who were murdered!
The life of a celebrity is a wonderful one envied by many. They have wealth, fame, recognition, and influence that a human would desire.
They can seek the best medical care and also in case of any eventuality, they have a large number of supporters. But not all celebrities die a natural death.
Some of these have been victims of murder and today we shall know some of them who were attacked and succumbed to it!
John Lennon
John Lennon was a pop star and a Beatles singer and songwriter. Born in 1940, he soon became an icon of his generation.
On 8 December 1980, John Lennon signed autographs for his fans outside his NYC apartment and later went to the recording studio. He did not have his dinner and came home to wish his 5-year-old son goodnight.
As he returned home, a 25-year-old security guard from Hawaii who was also an autograph hunter shot him on the back and shoulders. His name was Mark David Chapman. As John fell, he was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Mark sat silently waiting for the police to arrest him. He pleaded guilty and was jailed for 20 years. Further, he was denied parole. He said that he had killed John to get attention.
Gianni Versace
Gianni Versace was a famous Italian fashion designer who had a client list of some of the A-listers of the world. His death was so sudden that it sent shock waves around the world.
Gianni had a home in Miami and as he ascended the steps of his home on 15 July 1997, he was shot at by a 27-year-old school dropout.
Gianni, 50 had gone for a morning walk on Ocean Drive, Miami and he was returning from it when this incident occurred. The criminal was a serial killer named Andrew Cunanan who emptied two bullets from a 0.40 caliber pistol into Gianni’s head.
Gianni collapsed and was rushed to the nearby Mount Sinai Medical Centre in Miami Beach but could not survive the attack. Guests who attended his funeral included Princess Diana and Sir Elton John.
There was no element of any enmity between Andrew and Gianni. Gianni did not even know the murderer. Gianni was Andrew’s last victim and he had killed 5 people between April and July 1997. He killed himself on 25 July 1997 and the police remained clueless about the motive of the murders.

Gemma McCluskie
British actress Gemma had become a victim of family rivalry. She was killed in 2012 by her brother. Gemma shared a home in London with her brother Tony. She disappeared on 1 March 2012. Her friends and castmates started a campaign to know her whereabouts.
This campaign was called #FindGemma in which there was an appeal for information regarding Gemma and where she is. 5 days later on 6 March, a headless body was found in Regent’s Canal and 3 days later, the police confirmed that it belonged to Gemma.
On 10 March, Tony was arrested and charged with murder. The search was continued and it was on 12 September that Gemma’s head could be retrieved around the same place.

The course of the trial revealed that the siblings argued on the day of the murder. Gemma had asked her brother to leave and he said that he grabbed her and after that has no memory of what happened.
It was confirmed later that death had occurred due to repeated blows to the head with a blunt instrument. CCTV footage of the day next to the murder day also showed him carrying the body in a suitcase.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment on 13 January 2013.
