Update on Jonatha Majors’ defamation case
Jonathan Majors has resolved a major legal issue concerning his defamation case with ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
Court documents filed in Manhattan on November 21, 2024, revealed that both parties agreed to dismiss the case with prejudice. Meanwhile, the claims cannot be refiled in the future.
Jabbari’s attorney described the settlement as “favorable” but did not disclose specific details.
In her statement, attorney Brittany Henderson praised Jabbari for her bravery during the lengthy legal proceedings and expressed hope that she could now move forward positively.
Henderson stated,
“Grace Jabbari has exhibited tremendous courage throughout this very long and difficult process. As a result of her commitment to justice, the lawsuit that she filed against Jonathan Majors has been favorably settled. We hope that she can finally put this chapter behind her and move forward with her head held high.”
The legal battle of Jonatha Majors and Grace Jabbari
Jabbari initially filed a lawsuit against Majors in March 2024, claiming that he had engaged in a “pattern of pervasive domestic abuse that began in 2021 and extended through 2023.”
The lawsuit included allegations of battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and malicious prosecution.
Similarly, she accused him of launching an “extensive media campaign” to harm her reputation and argued that his public denials of abuse were defamatory.
In December 2023, he was sentenced to a year-long domestic violence intervention program after a jury found him guilty of assaulting Jabbari.
However, he avoided jail time after maintaining his innocence throughout the proceedings.
The incident occurred during an argument that escalated from the backseat of a chauffeured car into the street, where Jabbari alleged that Majors hit her head with his open hand, twisted her arm behind her back, and fractured her middle finger.
Majors claimed that Jabbari was the aggressor due to jealousy and that he was merely trying to retrieve his phone and escape the situation.
In April, he was sentenced to complete 52 weeks of therapy for domestic violence in Los Angeles instead of receiving jail time.
Jonatha Majors’ legal troubles impact on his career
Jonatha is a rising star in Hollywood. He is popular for his role, Kang the Conqueror in Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. He also starred alongside Michael B. Jordan in Creed III.
However, his career is in crisis following domestic violence allegations.
After being convicted of two misdemeanor charges related to domestic violence, he lost major film projects and his representation from his talent agency.
Notably, he has been removed from the leading role he was supposed to play in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which has since been restructured into Avengers: Doomsday.
Despite these setbacks, Majors is working to revive his career. He has been cast in a new thriller titled Merciless, directed by Martin Villeneuve. His film Magazine Dreams will be released next year after securing a distribution deal with Briarcliff Entertainment.
Throughout this tumultuous period, Majors has maintained his innocence regarding the allegations against him and expressed a desire to continue his career in the industry.
