What happened to her?

Last month, the supermodel was hospitalized after suffering a blood clot in her brain. She acknowledged her hospitalization and gave a recovery update to followers on Instagram last time.

Yesterday, she opened up on her YouTube channel and detailed the ordeal in a video titled “Telling My Story,” as well as shared on her respective Instagram handle. She began,

“I’m making this video because I wanted to tell the story, in my words, of where I’ve been at health-wise for the last month and what I’ve gone through,”

Hailey then went on to explain that it was the scariest moment that could even happen in her life. She explained that the incident happened while she was having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She recalls,

“The right side of my face started drooping, I couldn’t get a sentence out. Immediately, I thought I was having a stroke.”

Adding to that, Hailey stated, they went to a medic nearby as an ambulance was called. Though a medic arrived quickly, During that time, she felt challenged to formulate words. She explained in the video,

“By the time I got to the emergency room, I was pretty much back to normal – [I] could talk, [I] wasn’t having any issues with my face or my arm,”

Following the tests found out that she had a blood clot in her brain that led to the stroke. Hailey shared that she then did more thorough testing at UCLA, concluding that the blood clot was due to recently starting birth control pills, as well as recently having COVID-19.

She said,

“It was a perfect storm that led to me having a blood clot,”

Hailey’s current health situation is fine, she’s now taking aspirin and blood thinners daily and no longer suffering from any related symptoms. She concluded her video by saying,

“The biggest thing I feel is I just feel really relieved that we were able to figure everything out, that we were able to get it closed, that I will be able to move on from this really scary situation and just live my life.”
