After all, Evan McClintock was proposing to Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade Mathers.
McClintock appeared on his fiancee’s podcast Just a Little Shady where he revealed what it was like to ask for the rapper’s blessing to marry his daughter.
Hailie is the daughter of the iconic rapper who he shares with his ex-wife Kim Scott.
Hailie and Evan who were university sweethearts dated for six long years before the latter popped the question earlier this month.
The 27-year-old who, for the first time appeared on his future wife’s show explained how proposed to his girlfriend, saying,
“Over the holidays, I was looking for an opportunity not to make it too obvious,”
He revealed he was making up his mind to pop the question last summer but ended up asking her to marry him on February 4.
Since the Grammy winner’s daughter’s birthday falls on Christmas Day, McClintock thought it was the right time to ask Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, for his daughter’s hand.
Evan recalled,
“I saw your dad go downstairs, and I’m like, ‘I gotta do it right now, or I’m not doing it today, and I’m gonna have to schedule another time,’”
“So I just followed him downstairs, and, thankfully, he was just down there getting your cake and I made it happen.”

Hailie and Evan met while studying at Michigan State University
But there was something else that was bothering the future groom; the perfect ring to propose to the love of his life.
The professional golf player started searching for the perfect diamond ring during Thanksgiving. He finally got the perfect ring with the help of Hailie’s sister, Alaina Marie Scott.
Hailey interrupted saying that she had no inkling that her then-boyfriend was out there looking at rings, saying,
“The day after my birthday, you got it? That’s crazy,”
Evan added,
“It’s funny, so your sister really helped me out,”
“She basically told me what for sure not to get.”
The podcaster quipped,

Hailey announced her engagement on Instagram with an adorable post, writing, ”casual weekend recap… ?? 2.4.23 ?,”
She posted several beautiful photos from the special day, including the one where Evan was getting down on one knee with a ring in his hand.
The duo first met each other while studying together at Michigan State University.
Hailie made her Instagram debut with her boyfriend on December 16 as they celebrated her birthday together.
