Congratulations are in order for Hilary Swank and her husband Philip Schneider who are going to be parents soon. And their excitement is beyond measure since the first-time-to-be-parents are expecting twins.

While giving the good news to her fans and well-wishers, the actress also discussed why she waited so long to have kids of her own.

The Alaska Daily star recently gave an interview on Wednesday where she said:

“I was having a career and not having the right relationship until … four years ago, and all the elements needed to come together and be right,”
“It’s just something I thought about even as a young girl,”

Swank, who announced the news of her pregnancy earlier this month, informed that she is feeling better after having bouts of morning sickness.

“My friends tell me when you have double [on the way], it doubles the hormones, doubles the sickness, doubles the everything.”

The Freedom Writers actress confirmed that her twins are due on her late father’s birthday in April which she said was a beautiful coincidence.

Talking about her dear late daddy Stephen Swank who died in October 2021, the Million Dollar Baby star said:

”My dad, he was one of my favorite people in the world,”
“It is kind of this tribute of life with them being born on this birthday. … It’s all aligning.”

Hilary and Philip love to keep their relationship out of the public eye

The actress’ pregnancy comes four years after she married Schneider in August 2018 in a romantic ceremony in California.

The entrepreneur asked Swank to marry him in 2016 after nearly a year of dating. This is Swank’s first pregnancy but definitely not her first marriage.

Talking about their wedding, Swank discussed with Vogue:

“It was timeless. There is just no other way to describe it,”
“I was overwhelmed with such gratitude and thanks to be marrying the man of my dreams and to see all the people we love together in the middle of such a profound setting. It was truly a dream come true.”

The couple is very private about their relationship and has attended only a few public events together.

Many believe that the pair were set up on a blind date by actor Misha Collins‘s wife Victoria Vantoch.

Hilary said:

“We met at 10:00 a.m. and parted ways at 11:00 p.m.,”
“We clearly enjoyed our time!”

The star was previously married to Chad Lowe from 1997 to 2006.

Talking about her ideal family life, while still being married to Lowe, Swank said:

“I definitely would like kids someday,”
“That’s definitely something that I’ve always thought about as a very, very young girl.”
