The Hollywood Hills home of Rapper YG raided by police in connection with the police shooting in Compton early this month!

The Hollywood Hills, LA house of rapper YG whose real name is Keenon Jackson was raided on Thursday 18 July 2019.

This was in connection to the police shooting which took place in Compton in the early part of this month. One bystander was seriously injured and later died.

The police shooting in Compton

On 3 July 2019, the deputies chased and tried to pull over a car (Cadillac Escalade) because they believed that the driver was not driving properly and seemed to be under the influence.

The car was a company car registered to YG. However one of the occupants of the car fired an assault rifle at the police multiple times. The police officers also shot back. But the car managed to escape.

A Sheriff’s helicopter was put to work and it tracked down the vehicle to Inglewood. Here too, an occupant from the car fired at the helicopter as it came a bit closer to it.

The occupants of the car left the SUV and fled from the scene of the crime. However, the police managed to nab one of them while the second one escaped.

The police searched the abandoned car for clues but did not find the rifle in it. The escaped criminal had prostate it away with him. In all this scuffle, one police officer suffered grazed gunshot wounds which were on his arms and shoulders.

But there was a passer-by who had more serious and multiple gunshot wounds. He was Ricky Cornell Starks and he was 65 years old.

He was declared dead at the scene of the crime. But it is not certain whose gun killed this bystander-was it that of the suspects or the police? The case would be clear after investigation.

The police raid the LA house of rapper YG

In connection with this shootout in Compton, the police found enough evidence to raid the premises of the rapper. However, the rapper does not live there and has leased the property to someone.

Marvin Crowder, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department clarified that YG was not present there at the time of the search. He has also not been implicated in this crime.

After this raid, several people were detained in the house. One of them Tyquan Williams, 29 was arrested on the weapons possession charge, Deputy James Nagal revealed. But James was not sure whether the man arrested had any connection to the shooting of Compton.

Rapper YG and his statement

Deputy Marvin Crowder has revealed that there is no connection between YG with the shootout. He is not involved in the crime. The rapper tweeted his innocence and said that he did not know of the shooting until after.

He wrote on his Twitter handle:

“I was nowhere near the scene of this incident, I was in Hollywood recording in the studio all day,”
