Happy Married Life! Jalen Brunson took a milestone step with his longtime girlfriend Ali Marks.

The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Chicago’s Ritz-Carlton on Saturday, July 30.

The two are high school sweethearts. Ali gushed about their extravagant wedding to PEOPLE,

“We wanted it to be a big big party: celebratory and joyful, with lights, lasers, a fun DJ, good food, good drinks,”

The wedding decoration was planned by Carrie Zack of Carrie Zack Events. The pair’s dog, Kona played a major role in their ceremony as the flower girl.

Their wedding was officiated by Jalen’s ex-Villanova and Knicks teammate Ryan Archidiacono. Julius Randle, Derrick Rose, RJ Barrett, Josh Hart, and Donte DiVincenzo were in attendance at their wedding.

Jalen Brunson told the outlet,

“We wanted to bring all of our closest friends [and] family together in a city that means so much to both of us,”

He then went on to applaud his now-wife, stating,

“She’s always been by my side and I’m lucky to have her, I’m excited to celebrate this special milestone with all of our closest friends and family, who have been so supportive over the many years of our relationship. There’s a lot of shared history. I’m looking forward to finally calling Ali my wife!”

For the ceremony, Ali opted for a custom off-white strapless trumpet gown by Eva Lendel with draped fabric and a billowing train. Similarly, she paired her look with a matching heel from Christian Louboutin.

While speaking to PEOPLE, she said about her dress,

“I loved the simple elegance and timeless look,”

Jalen Brunson, on the other hand, looks dapper in a custom black tux with a floral pattern from Tom Marchitelli.

He wore underneath a white button-down dress shirt with an engraving on his cuffs, a silk black bow tie, black dress pants, and velvet loafers.

As for the reception, Marks changed into her prom dress from 2015 as a nod to the beginning of the couple’s relationship. In fact, she noted the entire dress code of the party was “all black”.

She explains,

“We chose to have an all-black dress code and really amp up the romance and drama with candles everywhere, white flowers for the ceremony —orchids, roses, carnations, hydrangea, ranunculus — deep-hued flowers for the reception,”

In September 2022, he made a surprise proposal on the basketball court at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois.

The basketball court was decorated with white roses and candles placed in the shape of a heart on the hardwood itself, with an arch made of similar flowers.
