Jeannie Mai is doing her best to protect her mental health amid her divorce from Jeezy.

On Wednesday, the former Real co-host announced on Instagram to announce her recent absence from social media.

The former host shared an image of a handwritten note that read,

“Sometimes, you need to take a break and disconnect, to heal.”

The TV personality simply captioned the photo with a black heart emoji.

Her short message comes just weeks after an insider told Page Six that Mai is devastated about her divorce.

The insider said,

“The truth is Jeannie wants her marriage to work and wants her family to be one solid unit,”
“Even though Jeezy has filed, Jeannie is holding out hope that he would be willing to sit down and works things [out]. She is hoping for a resolution and wants to remain as a united family unit.”

The rapper, 46, filed for divorce from the Emmy winner, 44, on September 15 after just two years of marriage.

The Put On hitmaker whose real name is Jay Jenkins, revealed that he and Mai were already separated, as per court documents obtained by Page Six.

He also stated that the reason behind their divorce was that their marriage was irretrievably broken.

The hip-hop artist also requested joint custody of their 1-year-old daughter, Monaco. They welcomed their baby girl in January 2022.

The estranged couple is still living together amid their divorce filings for the sake of their baby.

TMZ reported that despite living under the same roof, the two barely talk to each other. The outlet also said that the divorce was a total shock to Jeannie and she is facing a lot of anxiety and tension.

Jeannie and Jeezy tied the knot at their Atlanta home in March 2021 after three years of dating.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all the guests had to be tested two days prior.

Mai told Vogue at the time,

“We were really looking forward to having all of our friends and family there to celebrate,”
“But we had to change all of our wedding plans due to COVID. After Jeezy’s mother unexpectedly passed, we quickly learned that life is too short.”

She added,

“And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really just wanted to become husband and wife. So we decided to turn our original wedding into a mini-mony, where we exchanged our vows in front of our immediate family and a few close friends.”
