Wednesday actress posted a statement on her Instagram story to put an end to rumors with a slamming response. She wrote,

“This is so ridiculous I can’t even laugh. I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life. Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone.”

Deep’s representative also shut down the dating rumors, noting that they had never met or worked together.

“Mr. Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ms. Ortega whatsoever. He has never met her or spoken to her. He is not involved in any project with her, nor does he intend to be. He is appalled by these baseless and malicious rumors that are intended to harm his reputation and career.”

The rumors about their relationship started to circulate after celebrity gossip website, Deuxmoi inaccurately reported that Depp and Ortega had been seen together.

The shocking rumors received so much attention on the internet that many people began to question if they were true.

The outlet later tried to deflect attention by reporting that the actor might be working on Beetlejuice 2, co-starring with Ortega. In the film, Jenna will play the role of Winona Ryder’s daughter.
