The actress Jennifer Metcalfe, 36 plays the character of Mercedes McQueen in Channel 4’s series Hollyoaks. She was in a relationship with Greg Lake, 35 for the past 8 years but now the couple has separated.

Jennifer took to her Instagram account to inform her fans about this split. She told them that her split with now ex-boyfriend Greg was an amicable one.

Jennifer also told her fans that the split was a secret one and happened many months back. The actress posted on her post on Instagram:

“Greg and I decided to part ways amicably a couple months ago.

“We remain friends and we both will continue to happily co parent Daye and would appreciate privacy during these times.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported us before, during and after this.”

The relationship timeline of Jennifer and Greg

Greg Lake is a reality TV star on Geordie Shore. They met somewhere in the early part of this decade. And in 2012 they started dating. Jennifer delivered their first child, son Daye in June 2017.

Daye is now three years old. And earlier this year, the couple seemed to be happy. Greg had shared a sizzling photo of Jennifer on all fours. She was wearing a tiny Calvin Klein thong with a tight white top. She was probably scrubbing the bathroom.

Then he added:

“Thank you.”

But last month, Jennifer was on a beach in her bikini to beat the UK heatwave. She was alone there and Greg was not seen around her. She also made no mention of him in the caption.

Jennifer Metcalfe and her career

Born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, Jennifer grew up in Holme Wood Housing Estate. She started acting at age 12. Metcalfe took training in acting from the Scala Kids drama school.

She holds a degree in Health and Fitness and in between her acting work, she had earlier worked as a fitness instructor in Bradford.

As a child, she starred in several children’s series on TV. She gained popularity when she appeared in the TV series Hollyoaks and its spin-off shows from 2006 to 2014.

In 2010, she participated in Dancing on Ice but was eliminated in the seventh position. She had a brief return on Hollyoaks in February 2015.

Jennifer has also turned into an entrepreneur. She co-owns the clothing rental boutique named The Closet in Liverpool. Her Hollyoaks co-stars Claire Cooper and Leah Hackett are the other owners of the boutique. They launched it in April 2010 and it is doing fine.
