His father is James Carter Walker and his mother’s name is Lorena Walker. The Walkers moved to Texas when Jimmy was still a kid somewhere near San Antonio.

Jimmy Walker attended Canyon High School in New Braunfels, Texas. In 1997, he graduated from high school and attended Baylor University.

The university is located in Waco, Texas. He played golf at Baylor and after graduation, he turned professional at the age of 22.

Jimmy Walker started his professional career in 2001. He started playing on the Nationwide Tour throughout 2003 and 2004.

The first two professional events that he won are BellSouth Panama Championship and Chitimacha Louisiana Open. The Nationwide tour not only brought him fortunes but also paved the way to his PGA career.

His early career in the PGA was not a huge success and it let him be deprived economically. In 2005, Walker was unable to play the full season due to his injury.

The 2009 season was a little better for Jimmy and he was 125th on the money list and secured the last available tour card for the next season.

His PGA Tour got better in 2010-12. By the end of the 2013 season, Walker finished T2, T3, and T4 and earned more than $2 million.

Jimmy won his first PGA Tour event in 2014 at the 2013 Frys.com Open against Vijay Singh by just two strokes (62-66). The victory got him into the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, his first trip to the Master’s Tournament, and a PGA tour card until the end of 2016.

Throughout 2014-2016 Jimmy won three more PGA Tour and found his way to the top 10 on the PGA Tour money list.

Jimmy won his first major title at the 2016 PGA Championships at Baltusrol Golf Club after defeating Jason Day with a one-shot lead. He continues to play golf to the present day.
