The controversial rapper-turned-designer is reportedly being sued for assault and battery over an alleged 2022 incident that left a fan disfigured.
The court documents obtained by TMZ on Wednesday revealed that Justin Poplawski claimed the rapper punched him repeatedly after he asked him for an autograph.
The apparent victim claimed that he was waiting outside a hotel on January 13, 2022, to get West’s autograph when the controversial musician told him to “Go the f—k [out of] here before I beat you the f—k up.”
The father of four then reportedly threatened to “make a f—king example out of” Poplawski.
The victim, who previously got the Yeezy founder’s signature without a problem claimed that West struck him and asked, “So do you want to get attacked for real?”
After Justin requested an apology for the first punch, the Grammy winner then allegedly struck him many times more, “severely injuring him.”
The Love Lockdown rapper then allegedly ordered one of his associates to “go to the f—king house and get my f—king kids” — despite them trying him to stop.
Poplawski is now seeking an undisclosed amount of damages to cover the medical bills due to the disfigurement, lost earnings, mental pain, and trauma.
The lawsuit was recently filed by the case was initially investigated after which the LA City Attorney’s Office decided not to charge the rapper saying, there was “no reasonable likelihood of conviction.”
At the time, Kanye’s legal team said that he did nothing wrong.
West’s attorney, Michael Goldstein said at the time,
“video and photographs provided to the City Attorney’s office confirmed that this particular individual followed my client to three different locations over a short period of time and ultimately waited for him at his hotel where he approached my client at 3 a.m. [local time].”
“He once again entered my client’s personal space, which was unacceptable,”

What did Kanye West say about hitting the fan?
While there is no video of the assault, TMZ later received footage of the moments after the incident. The footage showed the rapper shouting while a man lay on the ground.
In the video, West was shouting female staffer to go away from him as she tried to calm him down.
The person who captured the footage could be heard asking, “Why did he just do that?”
Later West explained his side of the story in an interview with Jason Lee. He claimed that Poplawski wasn’t a fan but someone who would take autographs to make money out of them.
The disgraced rapper recalled,
“It was 3 a.m. in front of the warehouse,”
“And this dude just, he just had this real attitude, like, ‘Whatchu gonna do? And see that?’ Imma just tell you, that blue COVID mask ain’t stop that knockout, you know what I’m saying.”
The rapper, however, never admitted to striking Poplawski.
