Liam Payne‘s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, was seen in public for the first time since the emotional funeral of the former One Direction star.

The 25-year-old American model appeared visibly devastated as she took a solo stroll through central London in such cold weather before stopping at a cafe.

As she strolled through the busy streets, she clutched her mobile phone and a small purse, appearing without makeup and with her hair tied back.

Similarly, she dressed in a long, fluffy white coat and dark jogging trousers.

The sighting comes just days after she attended Liam’s funeral, where family and friends, including his One Direction bandmates, former partner Cheryl, and their seven-year-old son, Bear, gathered to mourn his loss.

Although it was a sad moment because they were all grieving a loss together, it was the first time One Direction bandmates appeared together since the band split in 2015.

Liam, aged 31, was buried following a ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Amersham, Bucks.

He had died on October 16, after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel suite in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Kate was with Liam during their vacation in Argentina, but unfortunately, she returned to Miami two days before the tragic accident, while Liam stayed behind to renew his visa.

Kate Cassidy’s heartfelt tribute to Liam Payne

Heartbroken Kate recently posted a heartfelt tribute to Liam on Instagram, mourning their lost future together. In her emotional tribute on Instagram, she wrote,

“I loved you unconditionally, and I will continue to love you for the rest of my life.”

Following his death, she shared her feelings on Instagram, thanking everyone for their support and expressing her shock at the situation.

She described feeling lost and requested privacy to cope with her grief. Kate acknowledged that although they had planned to marry, she believed they would be together forever in a different way.

The couple began dating in October 2022 and made their red carpet-debut at the Fashion Awards later that year.

The two had recently rekindled their relationship after a brief split in May 2023.

Despite the tragedy, Kate vowed to keep Liam’s memory alive, reflecting on their dreams of marriage before his untimely passing.

In an Instagram post, Cassidy shared a note that Payne wrote to her weeks before he died. The note said,

“Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever.”
