Katrín started her career in CrossFit in September 2011 when she was only 18. She honed her skills for 10 years as a gymnast and also competed for a year in track and field.

She trains at Reebok CrossFit Reykjavik under coach Jami Tikkanen, coach Ben Bergeron at CrossFit New England in the United States of America, and Reebok CrossFit Reykjavik in Reykjavik, Iceland, and CrossFit Stodin.

Katrín won an event at the 2015 Games in the final event, Pedal to the Metal 2. However, she missed qualification in 2014 due to poor performance at the Europe Regional on Event 5 which was a combination of legless rope climbs and sprints.

Katrín finished in the top 10 in the 2014 Regional Event, however, she couldn’t participate in the final 2014 Games qualifier out of the Europe Regional.
