Kelly McCreary and Pete Chatmon welcomed daughter Indigo Wren on 3rd October 2021! They welcomed their first child two months ago but kept it a secret for several weeks.

Update: In August 2021, Kelly McCreary and Pete Chatmon shared that they are soon to be parents. Their daughter, Indigo Wren Chatmon was born in December 2021.

Kelley opened up about the birth of her daughter and all she had been through. She has an emotional but empowering roller coaster of motherhood and the pressure of getting back to work in time for the midseason finale of Grey’s Anatomy.

McCreary and her Chatmon had planned an intimate home birth but her water broke too early which is why she ended up giving birth to Indigo in the hospital.

She revealed,

“Like many birthing people, about the only thing that went according to our birth plan was that the baby came out! I was just so relieved that we both made it through safely. Indigo had to spend some time in the NICU to finish cooking, but fortunately, there were no other complications. She is home and healthy!”

More on the childbirth

They received a huge amount of parenting support which is why they were able to enter into parenthood with more sleep and knowledge. They thanked the medical professionals at Cedars Sinai.

Kelly revealed,

“Emotionally, it has been a roller coaster, of course. Mostly highs, but also many moments of self-doubt and worry and guilt. I am grateful for an incredibly supportive family and community and so lucky to have several close friends who are also new moms and are sharing this journey with me.”

She wants to give her daughter Indigo wellness and mindfulness. McCreary has been incorporating those practices in her schedule as much as possible. The couple first announced the pregnancy in August 2021 with photos of the pregnancy test.
