American basketball player, Kevin Durant, 35 and Monica Wright knew each other from 2006 when both were in their high school. They had met at the MacDonald’s All-American game. But they did not start dating immediately.

It took them seven years to start a relationship. This happened in 2013. And in the summer of the same year, Kevin went ahead and proposed to her. And she said yes. But in less than a year’s time, the engagement was called off.

Reason for the separation of Kevin and Monica

In 2015, Kevin gave an interview to GQ magazine. In that, he revealed the reason of their breakup. Kevin said:

“I had a fiancee, but…I really didn’t know how to, like, love her, you know what I’m saying?”
