Landon Donovan announces his second son’s arrival

American professional soccer player Landon Donovan is a proud father. His wife Hannah Bartell gave birth to their second child on 19th June 2017. Landon Donovan took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce the arrival of his child into this world. Landon Donovan wrote:

“Introducing Slate Bartell Donovan! Everyone is healthy and happy”

He also posted a picture of the newborn wrapped up, cuddled and sleeping peacefully with a woolen cap covering his head. The child’s name is Slate Bartell Donovan.

Landon Donovan had shared the news on his Instagram about the forthcoming arrival of his second son in June this year. He had written:

“Preparations for the 2038 World Cup continue…baby boy Donovan #2 arriving this June,”

His dedication to soccer!

Landon Donovan’s dedication to the soccer game can be known from the fact that while his wife was in labor Landon Donovan was amidst the massive crowd at San Diego City Council chambers on 19th June 2017 afternoon awaiting the fate of first National Bank Stadium, the SoccerCity. He is very keen on the development of this stadium. In an interview given to 10news, Landon Donovan said:

“I just came from the hospital. My wife just went into labor. I told her I was staying with her and she said ‘no you’re going to the meeting.’ She said we have a son at home and we have one on the way in a few hours. She said at one point in their lives they’re going to Google this process and they’re going to Google you and they’re going to get one of two answers. They’re going to get Qualcomm Stadium that’s still sitting there or they’re going to get SoccerCity.”

He was there also for a meeting to decide on SoccerCity. It is learned that as soon as LANDON Donovan Spoke, he left the meeting immediately to be by his wife during this hour of need.

Landon Donovan’s marriage and love life

Landon Donovan married American actress Bianca Kajlich on 31st December 2016. There are not many details available about their dating history. However, within a span of 3 years, the couple called it quits in October 2009. In December 2010, Landon Donovan started the legal procedure for separation. In a joint statement the couple said:

In April 2015, the couple got engaged to Hotel sales executive, Hannah Bartell. Hannah belongs to the Bartell hotel’s family which owns seven boutique resorts in San Diego, many on the waterfront. These include the Holiday Inn San Diego Bayside, Humphreys Half Moon Inn, Island Palms Hotel and Marina, and the Sheraton La Jolla. A party for celebrating their engagement was hosted at La Jolla where they later shifted. They married in May 2015 on the water in San Diego in a private, low-key ceremony. It was held at Dana Inn on Mission Bay, owned by Hannah’s family.
