On this Mother’s Day 2021, Samira and Lauren welcomed their first baby together. After keeping the whole pregnancy and birth low-key, Samira made a sweet post for her wife.

The actress shared a cute picture of George’s tiny hands clasped around her and Morelli’s forefingers. In the caption, she praised her wife and had a sweet message for the baby. She wrote:

“Happy 1st Mother’s Day to my beautiful wife, who four weeks ago today after laboring for almost 3 days gave birth to our first child — our gorgeous daughter, George?. Welcome to the world, baby girl. We love you and we thank you for giving us the best 1st Mother’s Day two ladies could ask for.”

In another post of Lauren, she mentioned how happy and grateful they are. She shared the same picture of the family mentioning the birthday of their daughter.

Meaning of their baby girl’s name

After a lot of curiosity, the couple finally revealed why they named their baby, George Elizabeth. On May 14, they appeared on the late-night show with Jimmy Kimmel. On the show, the actress mentioned some people were confused as George wasn’t a common name for a baby girl. Furthermore, she explained:

“We got to teach the new generation about this because I wish that I had some really in-depth story to tell people about George, cause I know that’s what people want [and] you got to give the people what they want — but I just really like the name. I just think it’s really cute.”

She also mentioned when they did a little research, it was a girl’s name in the 1800s. During the conversation, the host said he had heard of “girls named George before”. But he had no idea that Samira and Lauren would name their baby girl. George.
