Manuela Escobar was born on 25 May 1984 in Columbia. Her father Pablo Escobar was a wanted criminal and a drug lord. Her mother is Maria Victoria Henao and Manuela has a sibling called Juan Pablo Escobar Henao.

Pablo was the wealthiest criminal in history and she was the apple of his eye. He would go to any extent to see the happiness and comfort of his only daughter Manuela. She had a lavish childhood and was a pampered child.

On her birthday once when Manuela demanded a unicorn as a birthday present, Pablo created a unicorn out of a horse and gifted her. He put a cow’s horn on the head of the horse and put artificial wings on its back. Once when they were hiding in the Medellin mountainside, Pablo burned money bills worth $ 2 million to save his little children from hypothermia.

He even gave a word to her that he would not have any more children after Manuela. He kept his promise to his daughter and made one of his mistresses abort a baby when she became pregnant with his child.

But soon tragedy struck. Manuela was only nine years old when the Colombian National Police shot and killed her father in 1993.

Manuela Escobar and her education

Pablo’s daughter Manuela did not have a normal childhood. Her parents homeschooled her. This was for her safety since her father had a lot of foes in his line.

In January 1988, a murder attempt was carried out on her father by means of a car bomb that eroded near their Monaco apartment but her father was saved. He blamed Colombian drug trafficker, Hélmer Herrera for the murder attempt.

Manuela Escobar and her escape from Columbia

Soon after her father died, she with her mother and brother was forced to flee Columbia to escape the likely repercussions after her father’s death. The trio traveled to many different countries in search of safe shelter and haven.

These included Brazil, Ecuador, South Africa, and Peru before they ultimately settled for refuge in Buenos Aires Argentina. She changed her name and became Juana Manuela Marroquin Santos. Her brother changed his name to Sebastian Marroquin. He is now an author and architect.

She was extremely attached to her father and after his death, she used to sleep with her father’s shirt which he had worn on the last day.

Here in Argentina, she started regular school and her brother and mother started a real estate business. The local authorities came to know about the identity of her mother Maria through some associates and they arrested and jailed her for one and a half years.

However, the investigating authorities did not find any association between her finances and any illegal activities. They then released her. She refused to go to school and hence her mother gave her an education at home.

She continues to live in Argentina away from the spotlight. She has no social media accounts and it is not known what she is doing now. There are no details available about her personal life. It is not known whether she is married, in a relationship, or single.
