Lily Collins celebrates husband, Charlie McDowell’s 40th birthday

Charlie McDowell, husband of British -American actress, Lily Collins turned 40 last weekend. Lily was elated and celebrated the great day in her style. They had vegetables barbecue with drinks in the company of friends.

Lily shared a series of photos of the day on her Instagram. Lily was in a red floral minidress with matching belt. Her long brunette hair was let loose and she posed for camera with Charlie and friends on 10 July 2023.

Charlie was in white open shirt on top of a striped T-shirt. In one of the snaps, he was giving Lily an affectionate kiss on her forehead. There were two other friends of the couple who also wore stylish dresses. Lily captioned the photo collection:

‘Closing out summer celebrating @charliemcdowell with the most gorgeous day, incredible food, and the best of company.’
‘Couldn’t think of a more special weekend at a more magical place…’

The second wedding anniversary of the couple

Earlier this month, the pair had another celebration to mark their second wedding anniversary. The daughter of singer Phil Collins, Lily posted a series of wedding photos and wrote below:

‘Two years today and a lifetime to come. I remember this moment, this day, this excitement as vividly as if it were yesterday,’
‘And I feel the love, the support, and the magic 100 times more. I adore you and I couldn’t be more grateful to be your other half in life and in love,’

She continued:

‘You make me a stronger, bolder, and brighter human. Thank you for being the greatest partner I could ever imagine and for making me smile like no other,’
‘Here’s to another 365 days of memories ahead, wherever in the world we find ourselves.’
‘I’d walk into the unknown with you any day and every day. With you by my side, it’s always an epic adventure…’

Charlie commented:

‘Luckiest guy in the world,’

And followed it with two red heart emojis. And Charlie put up a photo of their wedding when they were kissing each other. He put the caption:

‘Two years married to this beautiful soul. I’m grateful for every moment spent with you @lilyjcollins. Many more adventures ahead of us,’

And to this, Lily wrote:

‘Many many more. Couldn’t love you more.’

The couple’s relationship journey

It was in July 2019 when Lily and filmmaker Charlie were spotted together. In a year’s time in September 2020, Charlie proposed to Lily and she said yes. And the two exchanged wedding vows on 4 September 2021 at Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado.

Earlier in 2013, Lily had told in an interview that she does not like to discuss her personal life with media. This was because she had seen and witnessed the strain that comes with media coverage of splits such as that of her parents. Lily and Charlie have no kids still.
