Manu Bennett is an actor from New Zealand. He is famous for acting as the Gallic gladiator Crixus in the Starz television series Spartacus.

He has appeared as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke in The CW TV series Arrow. Moreover, Manu has also starred as the orc commander Azog the Defiler in The Hobbit.

In addition, he is playing the role of Allanon in the MTV series The Shannara Chronicles.

He has a brother, Stephen Bennett. Manu grew up in Australia as his parents took him there.

Unfortunately, he faced an accident along with his family. He lost his mother and brother during the accident.

Manu holds dual citizenship in New Zealand and Australia. Manu holds mixed ethnicity of  Māori, English, Irish, and Scottish.

Talking about his education, he attended Merewether High School in Australia. Later, he joined Te Aute College where he played the 1st XV.

Manu Bennett began his professional acting career in 1993 in the teen soap Paradise Beach. Later, he appeared in a couple of TV shows such as Blue Heelers, Water Rats, and All Saints.

His first lead role was in the movie Tomoko in 1999. Furthermore, he starred as a salsa dance teacher in the 2001 Australian movie Lantana.

After returning to New Zealand, Manu appeared in the famous television drama Shortland Street.

Moreover, he has also starred opposite Angelina Jolie for a part in the Tomb Raider sequel, The Cradle of Life. In 2003, he also hosted the reality show called Going straight.
