Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s on-screen romance in the movie “Barbie” is absent
Barbie has been receiving immense love from the audience starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
The film, which was released in theaters on Friday, has already grossed $337 million globally.
Margot, who plays the lead character “Barbie,” expressed disappointment that she did not get to kiss her co-star Ryan Gosling, who plays her love interest “Ken.”
When asked if she was happy not to have the kiss scene with Ryan in an interview with PEOPLE, Robbie just said with a laugh,
“Uh, no! That didn’t feel like a win for me.”
She also concedes that, despite being the movie’s producer, her friends taunted her when they found out that there wasn’t a kiss scene.
“All of my girlfriends were like, ‘Well, you did a whole movie with him, and you don’t kiss?’ What’s wrong with you? I thought you were kind of in charge on this one!'”
Margot Robbie went on to say, perhaps in reference to one of her bucket lists,
“I was like, ‘I know, I can’t check that one off [my list].'”

Gosling, who also appeared in the same interview, expressed his relief that there was no kissing moment in the movie. He told the outlet,
“It was so funny trying to figure out what their [Barbie and Ken] idea of kissing might be. I’m so glad all of that got cut out.”
The film also stars Ariana Greenblatt, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emma Mackey, and more.
What do Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie have to say about one another?
Aside from their characters, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling praised each other while being questioned about their personal lives. The 42-year-old Canadian actor weighs in,
“Well, Margo is uncrackable. She’s a rock. It’s frustrating,”
For her part, Margot gushed about Gosling and his inability to get her to laugh when they were filming, saying,
“No, I was laughing through everything. Ryan would do something different on every take,”
She added,
“I usually am pretty good about not breaking in a scene because I don’t want to ruin anyone’s take if they’re doing something great, and I couldn’t hold it together 50 percent of the time,”
Similarly, Gosling concluded while clarifying,
“But she can’t be broken, so it’s pretty frustrating,”
