How long have Ryan Hurd and Maren Morris been together?
Morris and Hurd first met in 2013 and the rest is history. The beautiful couple met during a writing session for Tim McGraw’s song “Last Turn Home” but their relationship didn’t blossom until a few years later. Before their love relationship began, the two had been friends for two years.
In a March 2019 interview with Us Weekly, Morris stated,
“[Ryan’s] always been a creative collaborator in my life, that’s how we met. We were paired together six years ago to write a song,”
She continued,
“We didn’t know each other and it just kind of grew from there, so music has always been really intertwined in our love for each other, and now that we aren’t just songwriters, we’re artists.”

Hurd’s song “Love in a Bar” from 2017 had details on their romance. His lyrics started,
“We were just friends, just hanging / Just sitting ’round waiting for somebody to cross the line. And we’ve been saying it with our eyes the whole time / That you have my whole heart.”
Additionally, they have shown us numerous glimpses of their love through their on-stage performances and appearances at award ceremonies for country music.
The couple makes their red carpet debut as a couple at the CMT Music Awards in 2016. Morris was nominated for female video of the year and breakthrough video of the year.
When did Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd get married?
In 2017, the pair took the next step in their love by getting engaged. Morris shared the good news on Instagram with a series of photographs showing off her ring.
Morris simply captioned the photos,
“Yes,” and included an engagement ring emoji.
The following year, the couple exchanged vows at The Cordelle in Nashville on March 24, 2018. Later, Morris talked about how they crafted their vows in a bar before being married, saying that she wanted her vows to be both sincere and lighthearted.

Do Ryan and Maren have kids?
Morris revealed in October 2019 that she was expecting their first child with husband Ryan Hurd.
The 32-years-old country singer even skipped the Grammy Award to spend time with Hurd on a babymoon at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee.
Morris and Hurd then welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Hayes Andrew Hurd, on March 23, 2020.
The pair just gave a shoutout to their son on the red carpet of the 64th Grammy Awards on April 3, 2022.
Hurd said,
“We miss you buddy — we miss you Hayesy,”
Morris followed up with,
“Go to bed, Hayes!”
“Chasing After You”: First-ever duet
The duo released “Chasing After You,” their first-ever duet, in 2021. The pair then performed their own song at the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards in April for the first time.
Hurd expressed in a press release,
“Maren and I met writing songs and we’ve sung on each other’s records and written together, but this is the first time we’ve gotten to do an actual duet together,”
He continued,
“It feels like the timing is really perfect and it’s a full-circle moment to get to make music together in this way.”
In addition, the song also earned them a Grammy nomination for best country duo or group performance at the 2022 ceremony.
