Matheus Nunes aka Matheus Luiz Nunes is a well-known professional football player.

Starting his career as an attacking midfielder, he played for LigaPro club Estoril.

From 2012 to 2016, he played as a youth for Ericeirense.

While playing for the Ericeirense, he scored two pretensions with 13 appearances.

In the summer of 2018, he signed a contract with Estoril and was part of the game against, Varzim.

Unfortunately, he could not continue the game in the second half due to an injury.

He left the Varzim and on 29 Jan 2019m he signed a five and half-time contract with, a€ 45 million buyout clause with Sporting CP.

On 4 June 2020, he was named for the Portugal national team by the club’s manager,  Ruben Amorim.

He received positive critics for his appearance in the game by many, from Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola. 

Later, he departed from Sporting CP and signed a five years deal worth, €45 million with Wolverhampton Wanderers on 17 August 2022.

For the Wolves, he has made five appearances.

International Career

On 30 September 2021, he called up the manager, Fernando Santos, to play in the FIFA World Cup 2022 on behalf of Portugal.

Prior to Fernando, he was called by Brazil’s national team manager, Tite, for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against, Chile, Argentina, and Peru.

Though, he rejected the call and did not play for his birth country.

As, he received a Portuguese passport, after living there for 10 years, he has represented Portugal in the FIFA World Cup 2022.

During the opening match at 947 Stadium Qatar, Portugal beat Ghana by 3-2 on November 24, Thursday, 2022 at FIFA World Cup 2022.

With a strong ongoing match, Portugal won over Uruguay by 2-0, on November 28, 2022, at Lusail Stadium, Qatar.

Recently, On December 2, 2022, Portugal played against South Korea at Education City Stadium and lost the match by 2-1 in the end.

Though Portugal lost in the end, it has been able to keep its place in round 16.
