There are some sad news reports about Italian tennis player, Matteo Berrettini, 27. He has not fared well in his game but his personal life has also suffered some setback. His life is going through a rough patch and if reports are to be believed, it is learnt that his Italian girlfriend, Melissa Satta, 38 has separated from him.

Matteo Berrettini has a breakup

There is some sad news coming from the camp of Italian tennis player, Matteo Berrettini. The professional tennis player has shown a poor performance in his game. Hence, his ranking has fallen and his name is out of the top 120 tennis players in the world as per the ATP world ranking.

To add to his professional woes, his personal life has also shown a setback. The Italian gossip media, Pirrotta has reported that Matteo has split from his Italian girlfriend, Melissa Satta, 38. Their love story has come to an end.

The two have not posted any photos of themselves together on their social media lately. Nor have the two been spotted at private events together. Matteo did not post any birthday message for Melissa this year on her birthday on 7 February 2024. Nor were there any Valentine’s day wishes on their social media for each other. These could serve as further evidence of their breakup.

It is learned that Matteo is currently in Monte Carlo, training himself in order to get back into his top shape. Whereas, Melissa is not with him at this hour. But she is enjoying herself in Saint-Moritz with a group of her close friends. She did not even take her son Maddox for this holiday. Maddox is her son whom she shares with ex-husband, former footballer Kevin-Prince Boateng.

Matteo confirms the split

On 20 February 2024, Matteo had an online press conference. In this, he confirmed his separation from Melissa. He added that it was an amicable parting of ways between the two. He said:

“I figured the question would come. Melissa and I are no longer together,”

Additionally , Matteo expressed that he was grateful to Melissa for the wonderful times they had together for one year. Talking about the amicable split, he added:

“We have a beautiful relationship, we have great respect for each other, I won’t go beyond this because I don’t like talking about my private life, I thank you for this beautiful year,”

Matteo’s career

Matteo is a talented tennis player. He played well initially and was on No. 6 in the ATP world ranking. But he has slipped down and his position is not even in the top 120 world tennis players now.

Unfortunately, Matteo has been struggling with his injuries that have put him out of action. He is unable to return to the field. Nonetheless, it is clear that he is tirelessly training and practicing in order to get back to action and reappear in the top tennis players list.

The couple had to face immense media scrutiny during their time together. They supported each other in their career. Even after the split, Melissa was a victim of insults, bullying, and sexism from the media. She has threatened legal action against them for it.
