Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake made headlines at the 2023 MTV Videos Music Awards, which were held on September 12, 2023, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The “Mirrors” singer, 42, and the rapper, 28, were seen arguing backstage at the event, that video has since gone viral online.

Thee Stallion can be seen getting her hair and makeup touched up in a now-viral backstage video, while Justin Timberlake and the reformed members of *NSYNC can be seen passing through the crowd.

On the surface, Megan looks to be ranting violently at Timberlake while pointing a finger at him. JT, on the other hand, welcomes her with a smile while bandmate Joey Fatone laughs in what some commenters said appeared to be an argument.

At the same time, no audio can be heard in the clip, leading many to speculate that there was a disagreement.

As it turned out, a lot of the fans misinterpreted Justin and Megan’s body language. A backstage eyewitness confirmed Variety that there was “no fight.”

An insider told the outlet,

“He said, ‘It’s so nice to meet you,’ and she said, ‘No, no this don’t count, this don’t count. We gotta meet proper.’ It was very cute,”

According to another insider who spoke to Billboard, Megan was actually so eager to meet JT and the others that she was actually asking for a proper introduction and re-do in a less chaotic situation.

The source said,

“Meg loves Justin. She was saying, ‘No, no, no, we’ve never met before. It was their first time meeting, and she was excited,”
