Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had a fun red carpet date night in Jamaica.
The couple surprised attendees at the Bob Marley: One Love premiere in Jamaica at the Carib Theatre in Kingston Tuesday night. The two were all smiles as they walked hand in hand at the event.
For the outing, the Duchess of Sussex, 42, looked stunning in a black Dior spaghetti strap dress with a princess skirt. Harry, 39, for his part, looked handsome in a navy suit worn with a white button-down.
According to its official synopsis, the singer’s biopic “celebrates the life and music of an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity.” “On the big screen for the first time, discover Bob’s powerful story of overcoming adversity and the journey behind his revolutionary music.”
The film hits the theatres on February 14 and stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as the legendary singer and Lashana Lynch as his wife, Rita.
This is Meghan and Harry’s first trip to Jamaica since 2017.
At the time, the couple were in the Caribbean nation to celebrate Harry’s pal Tom Inskip’s wedding to Lara Hughes-Young. However, it turned out to be something great for the couple.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl wrote in her book, Harry: Life, Loss, and Love, that he realized Meghan was the one he wanted to marry after attending that wedding together.
Katie writes,
“At the end of the night there was a slow dance and after Harry escorted Meghan onto the dance floor for a final twirl … Harry was convinced he had met ‘the one,’”
Prince Harry received a special honor in Los Angeles
Meghan and Harry’s red carpet event came after the prince attended the Living Legends of Aviation Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif., where he was honored last Friday.
John Travolta, who had a chance to dance with his late mother, Princess Diana, at the White House on Nov. 9, 1985, presented him with the award.
The former Suits alum, however, did not accompany her husband to the event.
The induction came just a few hours after the Duke of Sussex dropped his claim against the Mail on Sunday. He sued the publication over a story that claimed that he lied about offering to pay for police protection while visiting the UK as a non-working member of the royal family.
Harry’s spokesperson said,
“His focus remains … on the safety of his family, rather than these legal proceedings that give a continued platform to the Mail’s false claims all those years ago,”
