Memphis Garrett files for divorce from her wife Christmas Abbott
Memphis Garrett and Christmas Abbott are no longer a married couple.
Big Brother‘s alum, 41, has filed for divorce from her wife Christmas Abbott after more than a year of marriage.
On Friday, March 1, the couple filed joint paperwork, citing ” irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their divorce.
As per court documents obtained by TMZ, the reality TV star has asked the court to not award alimony to Abbott, citing that Abbott is gainfully employed.
He gushed about his divorce with US Weekly, saying,
“My heart hurts, I did not want to have to file for divorce. I was doing everything in my power to work on our marriage. I only wish the very best in life for her and [her son], Loyal.”

Abbott, on the other hand, also confirmed the breakup and asked for privacy for her next chapter. She said in a statement,
“It is unfortunate that the actions and intentions of individuals involved in this situation have led to the exposure of personal and sensitive information. I believe that matters of this nature should be resolved in a private and respectful manner. I ask for privacy at this time to focus on my family.”

Memphis and Christmas met on the reality TV show, Big Brother: All-Stars in the summer of 2020.
During the show, they developed a strong friendship through The Committee alliance. After filming wrapped, they took their friendship to the next level months later.
In June 2021, Memphis popped the question to Christmas while vacationing in Florida.
A year after their engagement, they exchanged vows in May 2022 at the State Railroad Museum in Savannah, Georgia. Abbott gushed about her then-husband with E! News at the time, saying,
“After meeting him, it became clear to me that God had a plan from the very start, I knew that everything that had happened in my life prepared me to meet him, so when I did, I would know he’s my person without a doubt. He is my best friend and my HOME and I get to spend forever with him.”
The couple often document their romance on social media celebrating their love every day. Unfortunately, the pair have now decided to part ways.
