RHOP star Mia Thornton seperated from husband Gordon Thornton after 11 years of marriage

Mia Thornton and Gordon Thornton have called it quits on their marriage.
Mia confirmed that she and Gordon have parted ways after more than a decade of their relationship.
The now-former couple have been married since March 2012 and shared two children.

The RHOP star, 38, exclusively confirmed to PEOPLE on Friday, September 29 that she and her husband Gordon parted ways after 11 years of marriage. She told the outlet,

“Like all marriages, ours has had its ups and downs, At this time, Gordan and I are separated, but my family is my number one priority, and I am committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure we are okay.”
“We ask that you respect our privacy and give us the time and space to figure things out,”

The couple have been married since March 2012 and shared two children a son Jeremiah Carter, 8, and daughter Juliana, 6.

Besides, they both have one child from their previous relationships.

Mia and Gordan came into the limelight of the media after they joined the reality TV show Real Housewives of Potomac in season 6.

In a 2021 interview with E! News, Mia shared she met her now-estranged husband during a charity event that was held at a strip club in 2003.

“The reason why we became friends is because we partnered and served on the same board for a non-profit organization to raise money for Haiti, We were raising money for the cause.”

Further, the couple are already proud grandparents. Mia shared with E! News earlier that she served as a step-grandmother to several of her estranged husband’s grandchildren.

“Gordon is 32 years older than I, and we do have grandbabies, We have four beautiful grandbabies. Two are adults moving into the college world, and two are in grade school. Of course, I feel like the two younger ones are actually my birth grandchildren because I actually helped name them.”

She continued,

“I was there to be a part of their birth and things like that, but it’s been great. We have such a blended family. His kids are phenomenal. His daughter calls me for advice, so it’s just really great. It’s just natural.”

As shown in the trailer of The Real Housewives Of Potomac’s new season, Mia Thornton and Gordon Thornton have problems in their marital life.

Mia revealed that she had consulted with a ‘divorce lawyer’ during a challenging period of their marriage. Additionally, she confessed to fellow cast mate Ashley Darby that she ‘might’ have married her husband for his money.

The Real Housewives Of Potomac’s eighth season is set to premiere on November 5th on Bravo.
