Talking about her career, Michie Mee started her music career at an early age. She started to perform professionally at the age of 14. In 1985, Boogie Down Productions introduced and gave her an opportunity to perform on the stage in Toronto.

Later, Michie Mee partnered with DJ L.A. Luv (Phillip Gayle) and formed the duo Michie Mee and L.A. Luv. They were also featured on the Canadian hip-hop compilation Break’n Out which was produced by KRS-One and Scott La Rock of Boogie Down Productions. They gained an opportunity after they had massive success with their first single, “Elements of Style”. In 1988, they signed First Priority/Atlantic Record.

In the same year, they performed “Victory Is Calling” and “On This Mic” on the compilation The First Priority Music Family: Basement Flavor which was produced by Howard Hughes & engineered by Walter Sobczak. She was also named the first Canadian MC to sign a record deal with a major American label.

The duo also launched their debut album, Jamaican Funk—Canadian Style in 1991. More than 60,000 copies of the album were sold in the U.S.  Their album was also nominated for a Juno Award in 1992. However, they broke up after Michie ran into trouble with the law. Later, L.A. Luv joined the group Dream Warriors.

After that, Michie Mee started her solo career. Later, she founded the alternative rock band Raggadeath, which had a Canadian chart hit in 1995 with “One Life”.’

Likewise, she also made her movie appearance in 1999’s In Too Deep. She was also featured in the 2000’s  CBC Television series Drop the Beat, as a rapper named Divine.

In November 2020, she released her first full-length album ahdgyal’s Revenge. in 2021, she performed on FreeUp! The Emancipation Day Special.
