Later, at the 2008 NJSIAA Sectional Championships, he placed 2nd in the triple jump and 3rd in the long jump. Sanu also competed as a sprinter making a record of his personal-best times of 6.94seconds in the 55 meters and 24.28 seconds in the 200 meters at the 2008 Merli Invitational.

Talking about his professional career, The Cincinnati Bengals selected Sanu in the third round(83rs overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft, the 12th wide receiver taken in 2012. The athlete then signed a four-year, $2.71 million contract with them that had a signing bonus of $563,252.

Recently, Mohamed was signed to the Detroit Lions practice squad on 6 November 2020. He was elevated to the active roster on November 21 for the team’s Week 11 game against the Carolina Panthers and reverted to the practice squad after the game. Presently, he was re-signed with the 49ers on 30 March 2021.
