Who is Mura Masa?

Mura Masa is an electric music producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He is known by his birth name Alexander Crossan.

Mura Masa is his stage name, famous for the song “Lovesick”. “Lovesick” got listed as number one on the Spotify Viral Charts in UK and USA.

Since his early days, he was playing guitar, bass, and drums and singing in local punk, hardcore, deathcore, and gospel bands.

At 15, Mura Masa started self-producing search samples on YouTube and other corners of the internet. Later, he entered the electronic music scene after learning about Hudson Mohawke.

At 16, he started to make electronic songs and uploaded them on Soundcloud. Later he also uploaded his first track, remixes, and bootlegs to SoundCloud.

“Lovesick” from the same EP was number one on the Spotify viral charts in the UK and the United States.

Mura Masa co-written track “First Thing First” on Stromy’s Gang Signs and Prayer, entered the UK Album Chart at number one in 2017 and 25th in the single chart.

Alexander’s self-titled debut studio album, Mura Masa released on 14 July 2017, received a nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Recording Package at Annual Grammy Awards.
