Natalie Portman and her husband Benjamin Millepied ended their marriage after rumors of the latter’s alleged affair.

A source informed Us Weekly on Monday that the couple are calling it quits after 11 years of marriage and sharing two children.

The insider reported,

“After news of his affair came out, they’ve been trying to work on their marriage but are currently on the outs,”

Last week, the actress, 42, arrived in Sydney without Millepied, 46, despite it being their wedding anniversary. She fueled rumors of their split by ditching her 4-carat Jamie Wolf-designed wedding ring. The solo outing came just weeks after she was snapped looking sad while out with the dancer.

News of their split comes just two months after speculations about the dancer’s alleged affair with climate change activist Camille Etienne started making headlines.

French magazine Voici published photos of the Millepied and the 25-year-old meeting up in his office. While they entered the building separately, two hours later they left the spot just ten minutes apart.

The magazine’s article revealed that the Black Swan actress learned about her husband’s affair months before that. The sources revealed at the time that the two were trying to solve their marital issues.

The insider said,

“They have not split and are trying to work things out. Ben is doing everything he can to get Natalie to forgive him. He loves her and their family,”

They further added that Natalie is a very private person and “her biggest focus right now is protecting the kids,” referencing son Aleph, 12, and daughter Amalia, 6.

Etienne who is much younger than Millepied is the author of For an Ecological Uprising: Overcoming Our Collective Powerlessness and is great friends with environmental activist Greta Thunberg.

Millipied first met Natalie while working on the set of her Oscar-winning movie Black Swan in 2009 where he was the choreographer.

He proposed to her in 2010 and the duo tied the knot in California in 2012.
