Guess what? Bachelor in Paradise has a new couple who are engaged now!
Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon decided to take their relationship further and got engaged, People magazine has reported.

The engagement

As per PEOPLE magazine, Jared proposed to Ashley this Sunday, 17 June 2018. This happened when the cameras were rolling for the filming of the fifth season of the Bachelor in Paradise show.

The couple seemed happy now. After all the crying and shedding of tears, this moment was well-deserved!

Jared is down on his knee. Ashley was taken aback by the proposal but was also extremely happy. She can be seen in the shared picture smiling and having her head tilted backward. It was true ecstasy! It seems she had cried this time as well but with happiness.

Jared had popped the question in Mexico. An insider revealed:

“She’s just so happy. She really is excited to be engaged but is more excited that she’s found her person. Jared feels the same!”

It was revealed that Jared had proposed with a ring designed by Neil Lane—the go-to guy for all Bachelor proposal bling. Later Ashley called her family and friends to share the good news.

How did their relationship progress?

Ashley and Jared coming together began in the second season of Bachelor in Paradise. The couple either separately or together has been part of most of the Bachelor franchise. They had moments of fun as well as sadness.

Their relationship was one roller coaster ride with a lot of ups and downs. There was flirting and crying. Ashley was upset initially that Jared was not reciprocating her romantic feelings for him.

There was a lot of teary-eyed drama. The fans and viewers knew this was coming but there was still an element of surprise in Sunday’s proposal.

Ashley had her heart set on Jared right from day one. She knew that he was her Mr. Right from season two of the show itself in 2015. But for Jared, it did take three years to fully realize what his true feelings were and to give vent to them.

Jared had shared a video on his YouTube where he talked about their love story. He said in that video:

“I never felt like it was over between us after Paradise, which is why I said we’re still going to be friends. Like, it just didn’t feel over.”

He had named the video ‘The Story of Us’.

Ashley’s other relationships

Ashley and Jared had dated other people in between. Ashley was cast in the spinoff called Bachelor Winter Games. In this show, she developed a liking and love feelings for a Canadian participant on the show named Kevin Wendt. But they called it quits in March this year.

After this, Jared wrote a love letter to Ashley and of course, Ashley was happy and accepted it. In May, the couple announced that they were dating.

The insider said:

“[Ashley and Jared] already know they’re meant to be. Jared [is] the sweetest and the greatest. He’s really her counterpart. They’re like their own little rom-com! ”

“It seems quick, but the thing is they’ve been best friends for so long. It’s actually perfect because they got to be real friends and really know each other over the past few years….. He has been her best guy friend for so long he’s part of her family already.”

Update on their marriage

On August 2019, the power couple Ashley and Jared got married. Their marriage ceremony was held in Rhode Island. They exchanged both traditional and personal vows in front of 180 guests.

Their marriage was officiated by Bachelor producer Elan Gale at an intimated church before heading to the reception.
