Anna Lovelis, her mother, is a musician and actress who was the lead singer-songwriter in the alt-rock band ‘Doxy.’

Her father, too, was a touring keyboard technician and studio builder. She also has a sister, Rena Lovelis, who is a drummer and musician in the band Hey Violet.

Lovelis is an American citizen of mixed German, Russian, Italian, and Polish ancestry.

Nia Lovelis began her career in 2008 when she formed a band called ‘Cherry Bomb’ with her sister, Nia, Julia Pierce, lead vocalist, and Miranda, backup vocalist and rhythm guitarist.

Later in 2011, they signed with Hollywood Records and released their first EP, Stark in the same year.

They released their first studio album, ‘This Is the End of Control,’ on May 5, 2012, to critical acclaim. This album peaked at #11 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers chart and #24 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart.

After a year, their lead vocalist, Julia Pierce, left the band, and her sister, Rena took over as lead vocalist, renaming the band ‘Hey Violet’ in 2015.

After rebranding the band, Hey Violet released their first album ‘I Can Feel It’ in July 2015, followed by another album on August 16, 2016.

They have two studio albums, three extended plays, nine singles, and nine music videos to their credit. She has also appeared in films such as ‘School of Rock,’ ‘To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You,’ and ‘Wish Upon,’.
