Oliver Chris began his acting career in 2000 by appearing in the TV film Lorna Doone as Charley Doone.  In 2001, he portrayed the role of Ricky Howard in 2001 in TV series The Office. He appeared in 6 episodes of the series. In 2002, he worked in series like The Gathering as Brett, Rescue Me as Luke Chatwin, and The Real Jane Austen as Tom Lefroy.

Likewise, in 2003, Oliver Chris portrayed the role of Henry Percy in the TV film The Other Boleyn Girl. In the same year, he made his appearance in the series Casualty as Tim Lasky in the episode named The Point of No Return.

Adding more, in 2004, he re-wrote the lyrics to the Beatles’ “Let It Be” to a song about the England football player Wayne Rooney. Oliver also appeared in two episodes of Silent Witness as James Sabiston.  He also portrayed the role of Captain Nick Medhurst, ATO in the BBC Three comedy Bluestone 42, about a British bomb disposal detachment in Afghanistan.
