Palestinian teenager Ahed Tamimi-from Israel prison to a VIP suite!

Ahed Tamimi who was jailed by Israel for having slapped a soldier last year is free now. The Israeli government thought that this would silence the teen who was a Palestinian activist.
But now less than three months after she walked out of prison, Ahed has already commenced her victory tour. This would be crisscrossing through Europe and the Middle East countries and Ahed would be the superstar of this campaign which stands against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank.
Ahed has met several world leaders and also gave speeches to throngs of adoring fans who came over to see the ‘new hero’ of Palestine. She was also welcomed by the Real Madrid Soccer Club.
The reaction of Israel to the VIP reception of Ahed Tamimi
Ahed has been greeted with open hands wherever she went. She has received a VIP reception and people love, adore, and worship her for her fight and struggle for the sake of Palestine.
Seeing the warm and VIP reception she is gathering at each and every place she is touring, the Israeli officials are extremely upset. There are questions now raised as to whether Israel has mishandled the case.
By imprisoning her, Israel has only added to her fame worldwide. Could this have been avoided if they had been a bit soft in their dealings with this teenager?
Yoaz Hendel who is a media commentator and former spokesman for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said:
“We could have been smarter,”
The whole incident of slapping a soldier
Last year, Ahed was seen in a video that was posted and went viral on social media. She first confronted an Israeli soldier who was in front of her home on the West Bank in the village of Nabi Saleh.
He apparently had invaded their home. Her cousin Mohammed al-Tamimi was shot in the face. She kicked the soldier and went on to even slap him.
She then took a swing at the second Israeli soldier who was standing nearby. The recorded videotape uploaded on social media went viral and she gained the attention of justice-loving people worldwide. After her arrest and release, she became more famous and an international icon.
Ahed Tamimi’s brother Waed al-Tamimi
Ahed’s brother Waed Tamimi was sentenced in August 2018 to 14 months in prison. The sentence was given by the military court in the Southern West Bank and this was for stone-throwing.
Ahed and Waed’s father is proud of his children and said that he is happy that they have taken the path of resistance against the atrocities of Israel.
