Paris Hilton learned the power of saying NO after becoming a mom

Paris Hilton revealed that she has learned to say no after being a mom.

In an exclusive interview with People to discuss her upcoming “Be an Icon” kitchen and home collection with Walmart, the new mom, 42, opened up about her husband, Carter Reum, and son, Phoenix Barron, giving her a new direction in life.

Explaining how she has a lot of roles to juggle, from a DJ to an author and a businesswoman, Hilton said,

“I always make Phoenix my first priority, and I’ve learned how to say no.”
“I’m constantly saying no to things, because I just want to spend as much time with him as possible, and I just don’t want to miss any of these special moments in his life and all these milestones,”

She said of her 8-month-old son,

“He’s my everything, so I always put him first,”

Hilton and Reum, both 42, secretly welcomed their first baby together on Jan. 16, 2023, via a surrogate mother. The pair who said I DO in late 2021, kept the news a secret for over a week.

Eight days after welcoming Phoenix, Paris shared a close-up snap of her holding her baby boy’s hand. She captioned it, “You are already loved beyond words 💙.”

Paris Hilton’s family helps her with parenting

The reality star also revealed that she and her husband are not the only ones raising their offspring as they have enough support from her parents: Kathy Hilton and Rick Hilton.

The Stars are Blind singer said,

“[My parents] are just so obsessed with him,”
“I’m always calling my mom and my sister [Nicky Hilton] for advice, and I’m really lucky that I’m so close with my family, so I have such a big support group.”

The proud mommy also revealed that she and her husband have taken their little one to music classes. Phoenix apparently loves it. The duo are also giving swimming lessons to their baby at home.

Hilton explained,

“He’s laughing, he’s starting to sit up on his own, and we just started feeding him solid foods a few months ago,”
“So we’re getting ready for him to start talking and walking and turning into a toddler.”

The hotel heiress explained that she was happy that she and her siblings were all having babies. She is proud to welcome a new generation into their famous family. The This is Paris star added,

“It’s just so cute to see this next generation of cousins,”
“It reminds me of when my sister and I and our cousins were all growing up together.”

She continued,

“Now, seeing all of them doing the same things, it’s really cute.”
