Will HBO’s Minx Renew For Season 2! Real Inspiration Behind The Storyline

Minx, the 2022 HBO comedy series season 1 (10 episodes) has come to an end and the viewers are excited if there is going to be another season of the series premiering soon.
Though there has not been any announcement regarding its second season the creative team has a plan which executive producer Paul Feig conveyed. He added,
“When you set up a show and you go in and pitch it, you have to be able to pitch up to Season Three and Season Four. It’s a very long-term story that will surprise you, along the way. Ellen is so brilliant, she’s got it all mapped out.”
Inspiration Behind The Series Minx
Minx is a true story based not only on one but a series of magazines that addresses sexuality in the 1970s. It is about the history of feminism and sexual expression portrayed in the series.
The plot was created by Ellen Rapoport being based on a true story. Actually, it is inspired by magazines like Suck, Playgirl, Viva, and Cosmopolitan. She confirmed Minx’s relation to not only one particular magazine but to a handful, and told on TV’s Top 5 podcast,
“I read something about one of these magazines, and it struck me immediately: these magazines in the 1970s were feminist magazines, which I had no idea about. It was a workplace that was populated by feminists and pornographers.”

1970s Magazine
According to Newsweek, Suck was a pornographic magazine around the 1970s. Similarly, Playgirl magazine focused on women’s sexuality, and nudity in turn challenged the existing Playboy magazine.
There were bunches of others that started to grow by the 1970s. Meanwhile, Playgirl Publisher Ira Ritter told,
“Our goal was to treat women as people. Back then, they were sex objects only interested in housekeeping or serving their man. We were a very threatening magazine for men.”

HBO series Minx, 2022 revolves around a young feminist who creates the first erotic magazine for women with a budgeted publisher.
Ophelia Lovibond played Joyce, and Michael Angarano played Glenn in the series based on the journey of the evolution of magazine in the 1970s. The other casts are Jessica Lowe, Oscar Montoya, Idara Victor, Sofia Gonzalez, and Austin Nichols.
