Jen Shah explains how Instagram trolls caused her to feel suicidal
Jen Shah confessed about trying to take her own life when Angie and Chris Harrington made fun of her and used her name for their IG trolls amid her fraud scandal.
On Wednesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, the star spoke to her co-star Whitney Rose about how overwhelmed she became because of all the negative attention she received.
She said:
“I tried to commit suicide and my husband had to take me to the hospital,”
“the whole Angie Harrington and Chris Harrington [thing] affected me so much that I tried to take my life.”
While the fraud case was going on, Chris created a fake Instagram account called Shah exposed to bash other Bravo celebs- more specifically Shan’s frenemy, Lisa Barlow.
Shah was in pain because the use of her last name showed that all family members had involvement in the fraud case when in reality it was none of them.
In previous episodes of her hit reality show, the 49-year-old revealed that she was relying on antidepressants after the media accused her of scamming millions of dollars from people.
Shah was convicted of fraud charges in July for reportedly running a nationwide telemarketing scheme of which hundreds of elderly people were victims.

Shah could face years in prison for her crimes
All along, Shah tried to maintain her innocence but changed her plea at the last minute. Later she even admitted to committing wire fraud and deliberately offering services with no value to people who were over the age of 55.
After much media drama, her sentence now will take place past the holidays. Now, she will have to face her fate on Jan 6, 2023.
If the case goes against her favor, Shah could face up to 14 years in prison and may have to pay $9.5 million to compensate for the crimes she committed.
Andy Cohen recently hinted that Jen will not be returning to the show’s another season but it has yet to be confirmed by the star herself.
The producer said during the BravoCon 2022,
“Once we wrapped [Season 3 and] she pled guilty, I think that was kind of, unfortunately, the end of, you know, the engagement there,”
“But I hope to sit down with her and talk to her at some point on camera because I have a lot of questions for her.”
