Tom Parker, the 33-years-old singer is no more with us!

Parker, a member of the British boy band The Wanted was pronounced dead on Wednesday (March 30) following a battle with brain cancer.

He’d been suffering from glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain tumor for less than two years. In October 2020, Parker announced that he was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma at the age of 31 and was given just 12 months to live.

Parker’s wife, Kelsey Hardwick took to Instagram to confirm his tragic death news on Wednesday morning along with a heartbreaking statement.

She shared two pictures on her IG grid in which she first posted a black & white snap of late Parker and then a family snap in the slide show.

A statement posted by Hardwick read,

“Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence. We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children,”

Tributes to Tom Parker

As soon as Hardwick breaks the news, Parker’s bandmates have also released a heartfelt following his devastating passing. They described him as their ‘brother’.

They wrote,

“Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan and the whole Wanted family are devastated by the tragic and premature loss of our bandmate Tom Parker, who passed away peacefully at lunchtime today surrounded by his family and his band mates. Tom was an amazing husband to Kelsey, and father to Aurelia and Bodhi. He was our brother, words can’t express the loss and sadness we feel.”

After Tom’s tragic death news break, tributes for The Wanted singer have already flooded. His bandmate Siva Kaneswaran wrote on Instagram,

“Hey Tom, hope you’re having a blast up there. I am so grateful that I had a chance to witness your true courage. It has been a pleasure of my life Tommy Boy. Thank you for letting us see you light up the world. Talk to you soon and see you later. Love you brother x.”

Union J singer JJ Hamblett described him as ‘an incredible artist and real family man’. He tweets,

“I am speechless! Such a cruel, cruel world… RIP Tom.. you will be missed but never never forgotten.”

Similarly, several tv personalities including Rylan Clark and fellow singer Howard Donald paid tribute to the late singer via their respective Twitter handles.
