Robert De Niro shared a picture of his newborn daughter

Robert De Niro is giving details about his 7th child and even showed the face of the baby who is just days old.

On Tuesday, the Taxi Driver shocked fans when he announced the arrival of his seventh child at the age of 79. Recently, in an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings he revealed he welcomed a daughter named Gia Virginia Chen De Niro with his girlfriend Tiffany Chen on Thursday, April 6.

The baby weighed 8lbs., 6 oz at the time of her birth.

Gayle announced that the actor and his girlfriend are over the moon about the newest addition to their family.

She said,

“They both wanted this baby,”
“They’re over the moon. She was brought here in love. He’s very psyched about it.”

De Niro first revealed the birth of his seventh baby during a sitdown with ET Canada when a reporter asked him about his six kids. The Oscar winner corrected him by saying he had “Seven, actually.”

He said at the time, “I just had a baby.” However, Robert did not provide any detail about his newborn child at the time.

Robert said he and Tiffany planned their baby

De Niro’s About My Father costar Sebastian Maniscalco also expressed his happiness about the actor’s seventh child at the NYC premiere of the film earlier this week, saying,

“I was informed today that he had the baby. I didn’t know leading up to this that he was going to have a baby but … God bless him,”
“He’s a very soft-spoken individual, loves to spend time with his family and I’m happy for him.”

Robert has six children from his previous relationships. He and his first wife, Diahnne Abbot are parents to daughter Drena, 51, and son, Raphael, 46.

He also welcomed twins Julian and Aaron, 27, with his former girlfriend, model, and actress Toukie Smith in 1995.

Also, De Niro is also a father to son Elliot, 24, and daughter Helen, 11, with his ex-wife Grace Hightower. The two divorced after more than 2 decades of marriage.

The couple has been together since 2021 after they were pictured on a vacation holding hands in France. Their romance made headlines just three years after the actor’s divorce from Hightower.

Kim Catrall praised the couple and Chen especially, saying,

“His significant other, Tiffany is such a beautiful woman,”
“I’m happy for both of them.”

Robert also revealed that the baby was very much planned saying, “How could you not plan that kind of thing?”
