Roman Kemp and his new big role
The Capital FM host Roman Kemp was in the Australian jungle for the show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! No sooner did he finish it, than he has now landed a new fat role!
Roman will be hosting the New Year’s Eve celebration on BBC One Channel on 31 December 2019. He has signed the contract to co-host Craig David Rocks Big Ben Live on the last day of this year and into the first day of the next year!
The Capital FM host will be presenting from Central Westminster Hall. His co-presenter Craig David would be performing live before the fireworks at midnight of that day.
Roman Kemp’s previous New Year’s hosting
This is not the first time that the reality TV star would be hosting the New Year’s Eve program for BBC. On an earlier occasion, he was on a New Year’s Eve show in 2017. At that time, Nile Rodgers had performed live with his band.
Roman is hyper-excited about the moment and the new contract. He said of the day:
“I’m so excited to be back hosting NYE again, standing beside the man I’ve listened to since I was six years old, Craig David! It’s always an amazing showcase, I truly can’t wait to see everyone there and bring in 2020.”
Roman Kemp’s career and life
Roman’s father is Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp while his mother is actress Shirlie. He was chosen for this year’s I’m a Celebrity show. He was a popular campmate and the audience loved him. But in the end, he got the third position after Jacqueline Jossa and Andy Whyment.
After he returned from the jungle, he and his girlfriend Anne-Sophie Flury had an exclusive photoshoot with Hello magazine. They talked about their relationship with Roman revealing that he wants to get married to his girlfriend.
The presenter stated:
“I knew I wanted to be with Soph on our first date. We’re both very family-orientated so marriage and kids are a natural progression for us. But before any of that, we want to focus on having fun, exploring the world and making memories,”
Roman continued:
“Every time I see a child, I get broody. Soph is so good with kids and you notice those things when you’re in a relationship.”
His girlfriend said:
“I knew pretty quickly that I loved him. I wasn’t looking to be emotionally invested but it just happened. After a couple of weeks, we both knew. I know the attention isn’t going to impact our relationship,” says Sophie. “I’ve never had any worries – he’s always, always made me feel secure and confident in our relationship.”
He is also close to his dad, he said.
