Based on the 1957 novel of the same name by Patricia Highsmith, Sam Levinson is the co-writer of the screenplay for the upcoming psychological erotic thriller Deepwater. He is the producer of the drama movie Pieces of a Woman.

Similarly, he directed and wrote the movie, Malcolm and Marie, starring Zendaya and Euphoria star.

In February 2021 this movie was distributed on Netflix.  It was announced on June 29, 2021, that Sam will be the producer and creator of the HBO television drama show The Idol, starring artist Abel’The Weeknd’Tesfate and Reza Fahim with his producing partner.
