Sarah Ferguson remains happy despite skin cancer
Sarah Ferguson is suffering from skin cancer just months after receiving treatment for breast cancer.
The Duchess of York was diagnosed with malignant melanoma after having had a mole removed from her body. It is the most serious type of skin cancer.
The unfortunate news comes after the former royal underwent a breast operation for cancer last year which was a tough time for her.
While undergoing breast reconstruction surgery, the Duchess had multiple moles removed, one of which was malignant.
Sarah’s spokesperson said,
“The Duchess wants to thank the entire medical team which has supported her, particularly her dermatologist whose vigilance ensured the illness was detected when it was,”
The reps added,
“She believes her experience underlines the importance of checking the size, shape, color and texture and emergence of new moles that can be a sign of melanoma.”
The mother of two is receiving treatment for her cancer in London and has taken some time to recuperate at the MAYRLIFE clinic, a medical health resort in Altaussee, Austria.
Her reps added,
“She is undergoing further investigations to ensure that this has been caught in the early stages,”
“Clearly, another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer has been distressing, but the Duchess remains in good spirits.”
A close friend of the Duchess also revealed that another cancer diagnosis in just a few months has been very tough for her.

Fergie’s eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice is indirectly connected to her mom’s latest cancer diagnosis, as she is a patron of the British Skin Foundation. She also has some experience working with skin cancer patients during that time.
Last November, Ferguson admitted that her daughters, Beatrice, 35, and Eugenie, supported her throughout the tough journey.
She called them her “wholehearted cheerleaders, my devoted champions, and my soulmates.”
Sarah added,
“They have been as supportive as can be, as they always are,”
Prince Andrew’s former wife was diagnosed with an initial form of breast cancer during a routine mammogram screening.
