Shannon Beador and John Janssen have broken up

Shannon Beador and John Janssen are no longer a romantic couple. The Real Housewives of Orange County star, 58, opened up about her present relationship status in an interview with PEOPLE on Wednesday, January 11.

The former couple has parted ways after almost three and a half years of dating. Beador shared that she and John had broken up over a month ago after she was “blindsided” in late November.

She told the outlet,

“All I can do is repeat in my head what he said to me while we were filming. We were in a great place. But seven days later, when the cameras were down, it was a completely different story. He told me he was done with the relationship. And to hear what he said to me then was absolutely devastating.”

The reality TV star has recently wrapped up filming Season 17 of the Bravo show on which she has been a full-time cast member for the past nine seasons. She continued,

“I’ve never loved anyone more in my life. I was hopeful this was the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I wanted it to work out. I’ve never loved anyone like I’ve loved John. But clearly, he didn’t feel the same way.”

Shannon and John first met in 2019 through a mutual friend and made their romance public in July of the same year.

What John Janssen say about his breakup with Shannon Beador?

Janssen, for his part, clarified to PEOPLE why he took the decision to call things off. He said that the breakup was a “super hard” decision for him too. John then explained,

“I’ve been in pain over it. It’s sad because I love Shannon very much. I have loved her more deeply than any woman in my life. She’s one of a kind; so funny and generous and full of life and adventurous.”

The businessman then went on to say although the two had things he never had with anyone, he did not “believe” in it. He said that “love is not always enough” so he believes it’s better to part ways.

Later, he concludes his statement by saying,

“And while I know Shannon sees it as I’ve said things to her I never meant, I hope she’ll be able to see that there’s no bad person here. It’s two really good people who couldn’t make it work.”

The former couple has been spotted together after the breakup also when they united for events at the University of Southern California games.
