Simone Biles and her new love

The Olympic gymnast, Simone Biles was rumored to be in a relationship with NFL player Jonathan Owens. But neither of them had either confirmed or denied the reports.

But now, Simone had shared a photo of herself with Jonathan on her Instagram. She has gone Instagram official with her new relationship. The two look happy together and Simone captioned this photo thus:

“It’s just us,” 

Jonathan Owens is 25 years of age now and plays for the Houston Texans. He signed with them in September 2019. In the comments section of Simone’s post about their relationship, he put up a number of red heart emojis.

The relationship of the couple

It is not clear when exactly Simone and Jonathan began dating. But rumors of the two started in the summer of 2020.

Later, in July Jonathan’s birthday came. At that time, Simone had wished him his 25th birthday via her social media post.

She captioned the birthday wishing post:

“Happy 25th Birthday. Hope this year brings you everything you want & more.”

Earlier, Simone was dating fellow gymnast, Stacey Ervin Jr. for three years. They had met three years prior to their dating.

And in the spring of 2017, Nellie Biles (Simone’s adopted mother and biological grandmother) had hired Stacey to coach her at the gym.

Though they were in a relationship, both knew that in each other’s lives they do not come first. And they split this March 2020.

At that time, she had told Vogue magazine:

“It’s hard being young and having that long of a relationship and then ending it,”

She added:

“But it was for the best.”

Simone and her career

Simone, 25 is an American artistic gymnast who is 4 feet and 8 inches tall. She is a very talented gymnast and has won 30 Olympic and World Championship medals.

She was born in Columbus in Ohio and her hometown is Spring in Texas. Octagon Agency represents her and she has endorsed several products including Nike, GK Elite Sportswear, Core Power, Kellogg’s, Procter and Gamble, United Airlines, and The Hershey Company.

Simone has a high level of execution of the most difficult skills. In 2018, she did a vault performance and in 2019 a floor exercise both of which are considered the most difficult in women’s artistic gymnastics.

On 18 January 2018, Simone confirmed on her Twitter handle that USA Gymnastics physician Larry Nassar had sexually assaulted her.

She also stated that the USA Gymnastics had allowed the abuse to take place and even tried to cover up the incidents. Judge Rosemarie Aquilina sentenced Larry to 40 to 175 years in prison on 28 January 2018.

And in May 2018, Simone and all the survivors of the sexual abuse were honored with Arthur Ashe Courage Award.
