Singer Sir Tom Jones cancels his world tour this year! Know about his health and career!

There is some bad news for the fans of singer Sir Tom Jones this year again! Sir Tom Jones, 78 who loves to be on stage to sing was due to begin his tour in 2018 in Stansted Park but was advised by his doctors to cancel it due to his ill health which would not enable the crooner to be on stage for his performance.

A statement was posted on his official Twitter to break the news to his fans. It said:

“It is with regret that we have to cancel Tom Jones’ performance at Stansted Park this evening.
“Unfortunately, Tom is unwell and has been advised by doctors not to perform. All ticket holders will receive a full refund by contacting their point of purchase.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and we wish Tom well.”

The fans would be given a full refund but they still would be highly disappointed since many were eagerly looking forward to the event. Tom Jones was due to perform at Chester Racecourse this week and later travel to Germany and then Finland.

The next month, Tom Jones also had more performances scheduled in Europe. After Europe, he had a gig at a festival in Jordan. But with his debilitating condition and ill-health, all of it is in the doldrums. We hope that the singer recovers at the earliest and can be on stage soon.

Tom Jones and the 2017 illness

Last September, Tom Jones was forced to cancel his US tour as the doctors did not advise him to perform with his ill health. He had undergone a hip replacement surgery and was out of action for many weeks due to it.

He was due to perform in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania from 6 September to 7 October 2017. His final gig was to be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Tom Jones was very excited about this tour. Just last month, he had talked highly about singing live and had described the time he had on stage as ‘special’ and ‘unexpected’. He had said:

“My life is music and the quest for the next level of understanding in performance never stops, just like any artist,”
“There is nothing else I do that comes close, and I don’t want there to be!”

He continued:

“It is my privilege to entertain and perform for anyone who wants to listen.
“When an audience reacts to what I’m doing onstage, it’s the most wonderful thing and it never gets old.
“A show is a two-way street, an exchange between the performer and the people there to experience it.”
“If they love it, I am nothing less than thrilled. So come on — see you there!”
